Radiological Anatomy for FRCR Part 1

Anatomy, Radiology  Comments Off on Radiological Anatomy for FRCR Part 1
Oct 122019

The new FRCR part 1 Anatomy examination comprises 20 cases/images, with five questions about each. The cases are labelled 01 to 20 and the five questions are labelled (a) to (e). The authors have set out to emulate this format by gathering 200 cases which, from their experience, are representative of the cases on which candidates will be tested. The book consists of 10 tests with 20 cases each, and 5 stem questions each. The answers, along with an explanation and tips, accompany each test at the end of the chapter. This will help candidates to identify the level of anatomical knowledge expected by the Royal College of Radiologists. The aim of this book is not to replace the already available literature in radiological anatomy, but to complement it as a revision guide. Whereas radiological anatomy atlases and textbooks provide images with labels for every possible identifiable structure in an investigation, the cases in this book have only 5 labels, simulating the exam.

A Radiologically-Guided Approach to Musculoskeletal Anatomy

Anatomy, Radiology  Comments Off on A Radiologically-Guided Approach to Musculoskeletal Anatomy
Sep 292019

For many healthcare professionals, musculoskeletal diseases represent the “bread and butter” topic after graduation. Therefore, radiological education in respect of the musculoskeletal system is vital in ensuring adequate patient management and cost-effective use of healthcare financial resources. This book illustrates the clinical anatomy of the musculoskeletal system by means of images obtained using commercially available imaging equipment and the three main imaging techniques employed today – magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, and ultrasound. Based on an integrated multimodality approach, each anatomical region is presented with a special focus on clinically relevant anatomical details and the characteristic findings observed in patients referred by physicians. With almost 450 images and illustrations, A Radiologically Guided Approach to Musculoskeletal Anatomy is intended as a bridge from a standard anatomical atlas to diagnostic imaging. It will assist in the everyday interpretation of imaging studies of the musculoskeletal system, providing prompt answers to frequently encountered questions. Clinical notes and self-assessment modules are also provided. All who wish to learn more about the role of diagnostic imaging of the musculoskeletal system will find this book to be of great value. It will benefit not only medical students and residents but also radiology technologists and professionals in other fields of health care, including orthopaedists, rheumatologists, and rehabilitation specialists.

The Human Hippocampus: Functional Anatomy, Vascularization and Serial Sections with MRI Edition 4

Anatomy  Comments Off on The Human Hippocampus: Functional Anatomy, Vascularization and Serial Sections with MRI Edition 4
Sep 232019

This new edition, like previous ones, offers a precise description of the anatomy of the human hippocampus based upon neurosurgical progress and the wealth of medical imaging methods available. The first part describes the fine structures of the hippocampus and is illustrated with new original figures. A survey is then provided of current concepts explaining the functions of the hippocampus, and the external and internal hippocampal vascularization is precisely described. The last and main part of the book presents serial sections in coronal, sagittal, and axial planes; each section is accompanied by a drawing to explain the MR 3T images. The new edition is also enriched by several MRI views of major hippocampal diseases. This comprehensive atlas of human hippocampal anatomy will be of interest to all neuroscientists, including neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, and neurologists.
